What does MailBud-E do?

MailBud-E hangs on your mailbox door and drops when the door is opened—so you can tell at a glance when the mailbox has been opened.

What type of mail box will the MailBud-E work on?

MailBud-E will work on Mail Boxes that are: Plastic, Metal, or Concrete piller type with boxes mounted in them. Will not work on Cluster Mail Boxes. (NOTE: Concrete will install a little different requiring you to use a masonary 1/8 inch drill bit and placing the screw eye with chain in the concrete beside the mail box door).

Will MailBud-E work on my mailbox?

MailBud-E works best on standard residential mailbox doors. Results can vary depending on the mailbox style, door shape, and how exposed the mailbox is to wind.

Does it need batteries or electronics?

No—MailBud-E is a simple mechanical indicator. No batteries, no wiring, and no apps.

How long does installation take?

Installation typically takes just a few minutes. Basic hand tools may be required depending on your mailbox type.

Will wind blow it off?

The bolt can be adjusted in or out to help keep MailBud-E secure in windy conditions while still allowing it to drop correctly when the door is opened.

Can I install it on the left or right side?

Yes—MailBud-E can be installed on either the left or right side of the mailbox door, whichever you prefer.

What’s included in the package?

Each package includes the MailBud-E indicator and the required mounting hardware.

Not included: mailbox and tools.

What if the mailbox door is opened but there is no mail?

MailBud-E indicates that the mailbox door was opened. It does not confirm that mail was delivered.

What if the mail person puts it back on?

The mail person knows it's there to indicate you just received mail, they will not put it back on. Besides its out of their reach once it falls off the door.
